Burning Soul is at the essence and core of driving Brummies into passionate craft beer lovers. One of our newcomers in the Jewellery Quarter, Burning Soul has already created a huge fan base within the community as they continue to grow. Opening just a few days a week, quality beer seekers from all over the city gather in the warehouse to enjoy some of the best, most innovate craft beers in Brum. We highly recommend the newly tapped Raspberry Zephyr and Crusha Pale (image above).
The Gunmakers Arms
The Gunmakers Arms is a fantastic real ale pub located north of the Jewellery Quarter. This is a proper boozer to enjoy quality, locally produced craft beer by its in-house brewery - The Two Towers. The well informed bar staff along with the optional brewery tours makes Gunmakers Arms great place to start off your craft beer journey in Birmingham and learn more about the process behind making these magical drinks.
Located in the very fast moving Jewellery Quarter, The Wolf is an amazing space to grab a care free beer. A Birmingham born and bred business that always has a fresh selection of craft beers every month. The friendly and laid back atmosphere makes it all the more tasteful and one of our personal favourites. Pop in for Crafty Thursdays for 20% of all bottles and cans.
Specialising in craft beer, coffee and... child like fun with a mass of 19 Pinball machines over 3 floors- we have TiltBrum. Not fancy sticking around for a beer? You can grab a beer to go with a choice of dozens of beers from their special made fridge. Join them for tournaments of pinball every month. Image DesignMyNight.
Newly opened Kilder Bar is located next to one of Birmingham’s best eateries - the Original Patty Men and owned by, you guessed it - the Original Patty guys makes it to our list. With one of the largest tap rooms in the city offering 15 beers by tap, Kilder Bar is making sure Digbeth is heading the way for hipsters and craft beer drinkers. Being owned by some of the best young chefs of the city, the menu is also a delight with all sorts of meaty dishes and cheese plates.
Dig Brew Co
Another Digbeth space comes with the incredible brewery bar of Dig Brew Co. Dig Brew Co is paving the way for turning warehouse space into the perfect craft beer spot. Working on crafting their perfect beer every day, there will always be something new to test the pallet. With demand growing, we see Dig Brew Co making huge headway over the next few years in the craft beer space across the UK and we’re proud to have starting out here in our beloved Birmingham.
A firm old favourite in the city centre, this simple space has been delighting craft beer seekers since 2010, pioneering the beginning of the craft revolution in Brum. Opening every morning of the week until late, you’ll always be able to grab a fine craft beer at Cherry Reds usually with a great sun trap seat outside.
Post Office Vaults
With one of the biggest ranges of craft beers in the city standing at over 300 choices from all over the world added with 8 taps, Post Office Vaults is just an amazing place all us Brummies are proud to have in the city. The list would not be complete without this incredible pub.
Purecraft Bar and Kitchen
This award winning pub now nationally recognised began its humble beginnings in our amazing city opening just 4 years back. Join them every first Monday of the month for ‘Supper and Beer Club’ with expertly cooked food matched with the perfect craft beer.
Located a stones throw away from the Mailbox, Craven Arms is widely regarded as one of Birmingham’s favourite real ale pubs. With a fine selection of locally brewed products mixed with friendly staff, Craven Arms is a proper pub. Cobs and pies offered to accompany beers, what more can you ask for?
One of the oldest Birmingham boozers on the list standing for over 100 years, the Barton Arms has a lot to contend for. Steeped with an amazing history, the Barton Arms has kept up with the times to provide incredible Thai food to go with your craft beer, this old Victorian pub is just a must visit for beer lovers of the city.
Located right in the heart of the city centre, the Victoria is a well established and well loved pub of Birmingham. The Victoria really gets going at night when the place comes alive with party goers making this a regular hot spot of the city. Quoted as ‘a great place to start the night and a brilliant place to finish’ sums up the feel of this great craft beer pub.
Rose Villa Tavern
Located in the heart of the Jewellery Quarter, Rose Villa Tavern has the best of both worlds if you somehow happen to be spending time with someone not so much into their craft beer... please get rid of this friend. Providing a fine selection of beers as well as some amazing cocktails and tasty snacks, this all rounder deserves a solid spot on the list of best pubs.
One of my personal firm favourites being a Jewellery Quarter dweller, 1000 Trades offers a fine selection of beers from all over the world. Known as one of the world best beers ‘Triple Carmelite’ can be found at the well researched 1000 Trades. Serving up fantastic food to accompany your beer, this bar is a ‘must-visit’ in the JQ.
The Wellington, as well as being a great space to visit, provides one of the best selection of local ales in Birmingham. With 15 taps to choose from along with plenty of other drinking options. Hungry? Bring along your own food to eat or even order a take away and the Wellington will accommodate by proving plates and cutlery. A great way to enjoy a takeaway inside a fine pub.
Rock and Roll Brewery
If you haven’t heard of Rock and Roll Brewery before then listen up. This hidden space in the Jewellery Quarter is open at limited times but has gained an almost cult following because of its uniqueness and passion for beer. Hosted by the friendly owners, you can try their owned brewed beers for great prices and also take a tour of the brewery out the back.
